Stamford In Bloom

An illustrated map created for Stamford’s entry into the Britain in Bloom competition run by The RHS. This map was designed to be used as a hand out for the judges so they could navigate their way around the town. A circular route is featured as well as hand drawn watercolour illustrations of landmark buildings as well as cafes, shops and restaurants who took part in decorating their building for the competition. Finally characters and hand lettering were added to bring the map to life.

Illustrated map of Stamford for the RHS In Bloom competition. Map features hand drawn illustrations of the town, buildings and people.

All elements were drawn by hand using watercolour before being digitalised so that the map can be used for a variety of purposes and sizes. The colour palette created was chosen to reflect the soft stone colour of the town’s buildings with bright, fresh pops of colour to represent the Spring and Summer season that the competition is throughout. It was a privilege to create this map for Stamford’s entry into the RHS In Bloom competition.
